Learning Log 7

I have learnt from the performance that I must manage my time with the group rehearsals very well. Communication is really very important during discussions. One misunderstanding could lead to a huge problem. Time shouldn't be wasted and last minute jobs shouldn't be done. I think that we can improved more on the characters lines and expressions. The dancing part could also be better.

Although it was not really as I had expected, I would actually recommend it to my juniors to do this play, although it was very time consuming, we really learnt a lot during the preparations for the performance. It also improves our confidence.

The other groups did a very good job too although some of them forgot their lines, their expressions were really well done. It was really a fun performance to be in.

Learning Log 6

I have learnt more different literary devices. Some of these literary devices such as imagery and figurative language and sound devices were already learnt in Secondary one. It reminds me of how we had to memorise every devices for the particular test. There are also a few tougher ones that I just learnt such as oxymoron and rheotorical question. By learning these literary devices, it also helps us to understand the overall meaning of the text better. We can also find out what the writer is trying to convey to the readers. It helps us to answer well too.

Learning Log 5

By reading this booklet, I have learnt how to understand an unseen poem better. Firstly, we have to dig out the meanings. Secondly, we have to ask ourselves questions with the five wives and one husband questions. Making notes on the poem will help alot in our understanding. I have also learnt how to answer questions better, giving direct answers to short-answered questions, and giving a brief context to the points I am going to make if it is an essay.

I have also learnt how to organise and write an essay. I learnt how to apply the different skills such as Comprehension, Interpretation, Analysis and giving personal responses. A point to note is that responses must be supported by textual evidence. The order of an essay is the introduction, the body which include points, evidences, elaborations and personal responses, and finally the conclusion

Learning Log 4

I have learnt that good teamwork is very important during the performance is very important. Rehersals are also very important. Sometimes, we just do not have enough time to perform although it was delayed for a week. I thought that Akmal did very good at changing his voice to sound like a witch.
During the first groups performance, it was really very funny when there was a mistake when there was the pikachu sound. It was really very funny. I thought that I did not did very good as the changing in voice of mine varied alot, from high to low. It sounds weird in the end. I also did not want to look like a witch so I felt like a spoiler.
I think I can do better in the next performance.

Learning Log 3

It was really fun when we practice on our own as the three different witches. I tried using different voices or tones to imitate a witch and it was really interesting and amazing. Too be truthful, the lesson on Act 1 Scene 2 is quite boring. Although we get to know the different meanings of the difficult words, it was still boring because we only get to highlight the keywords and write down important points. If there were some acting, I think it would be better for us to understand using different props. The discussion on comic grids was okay since it is done in groups, but thinking about the different sentences for each box was quite difficult. I guess it would help better in our understanding.

Learning Log 2

During the different demostrations either by the teacher or my peers, it was really fun and I got to know the different ideas on how to imitate a witch, in high pitch or in low pitch.
The discussion on the superstitions made me learn more new superstitions which I didn't know in the first place. But some were really unbelievable.
The presentations made the presentors express themselves more confidently. We must also respect them by listening when they are presenting.

Learning Log 1

I have learnt about the format for writing a cinquain. Now, I know that I need to include the title as the first word for the cinquain. Two words for the/ or about the title. Three action words about the title. Four words about my feeling about the title and one last word on the reflection.
I enjoyed the lesson especially when we were doing group work. I know my own responsibilities. I also learnt how to respect my group mates' opinions.
There should also be more writing of Cinquain to improve our creativity.
